my splint.. uggh!
I have to wear this thing for 6 to 8 hours. It truly helps my recovery. Before physical therapy, I could not move my ankle. My joint could not be manipulate by the PT. My range of motion was a negative. Now, I have range of motion above neutral. My goal is to have a range of motion of 3.
I’m excited!
This thing is rental. I have a couple more weeks on it. I have tons of physical therapy sessions to go! *sigh*. I might get another month on the splint.

Funny..
My physical therapist and I are working hard on my walk. I am still walking with my crutch.. I need a cane. Somedays, I feel adventurous. I do not use my crutch. I felt I’ve been practicing my walk. That I did not need my crutch.
I was running errands on thursday. I went into the state office. A 50ish stylish Black lady helped me. As I stood up to leave, I must had the look of pain on my face. So I said I had surgery. She whispers.. Oh I had that surgery too! I saw you walk in here.. Shock rang in my head.. I smiled and said good day.. She thought I had a hysterectomy. As I walked out the door, I could hear Mister’s Daddy say.. She got that nasty womens disease.. Needless to say .. I use my crutch and walk on my walk…lol

odd
I was on a message board asking about HR trends. Most folks believed Employers hold cards and can deal them to employees to their choosing. My thoughts, ok! This might be true. Obviously it is true! Are employers losing out on decent employees ? Because they do not fit this standard or that standard. . What happened to the times of training folks for a job? Are jumping thru hoops to obtain a job? A previous job, I had interviewed for .. I was told that I did not get the job b/c I did not have Sag Harbor suit. Pish! Psah! I laughed heartily.. obviously it was not the job for me. odd..

Human Spinners?
Have you ever seen those folks with signs about a new business? Some are dressed goofy. Some are jumping up and down for attention. A $100 dollars for 4-6 hrs in the blistering Fla. Hot Sun! Hmm! One sunny day, I saw a homeless person on one corner, a human spinner on another corner and someone asking for donations on another corner. I thought to myself this is too much of a distraction! The Human spinner held her sign about the new condos. She had no energy about her.
If I did this job, I would need mp3 player and headphones. A big floppy hat to keep sun off my face.. The things folks do to make money!

Huh?!!! You are hiring a receptionist!
Your prime requirement is He or She has BA with 4 months experience. Are you serious? Why does one need to have BA for a part time receptionist? Employers can be picker and picker each day. I do not think a receptionist needs to have a BA. I saw this job on craigslist. Lately, I’m becoming leery of jobs on craigslist.
I am laid off from a position of 2 yrs. I am appreciative of unemployment. But, I need money honey. I am looking for positions.

Job searching in 2008!
*singing* It’s a different world than where you come from!
I was was laid off from a grant funded position on June 30th. Alot of folks were laid off! My peers in the prevention specialist field had the looks of disgust and worry towards end of June. They were disgusted that the grants to keep youth on the “straight and narrow”. The grants were gone! Some were worried about their homes and livelihoods. Social services jobs have dried up in the county. Some peers have left the field, totally. What will we do next?
I woke up Monday. I decided to tackle my jobs search like a 9 to 5. I am looking on various job search engines. I love applying for jobs online. After you feel out the application, The employer has some questions for the applicant. This is totally different from yesteryear. Questions, I’ve been asked range from my skill set to home life. Examples, Do you have health insurance from a different source other than your employer? In parenthesis, The employer said We do not provide insurance. Do you live 20 miles from this zip code? Huh?
I need to apply at temporary jobs, next..

Welcome to the Hopscotch!
Why did I pick this title? Umm, It seemed fitting to me. You hop on one number .. What do you get? Well you have to hop again on another number. One moment you are at home base. The world is fine! Some reason we decided to take risk in life. We throw out our mark(er) in the world. Sometimes, we lose our balance and have to start all over. Other times, we hop through the course of life or life miles stones without any bumps. To me it sounds like the game of hopscotch.
My blog will be about job searching , recovering from ankle surgery and what ever comes to my mind!
(I am new to blogging.. Dont get twisted .. if its not up to par!)
